The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) includes over 270 graduate schools throughout the United States and Canada. Member schools conduct post-baccalaureate professional and academic degree programs to educate persons for the practice of ministry and for teachhing and research in the theological disciplines. The Association of Theological Schools first accredited Saint Joseph's Seminary in 1973 and renewed its membership in 1983, 1993, 2004, and 2015.
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Educaton, the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, first granted accreditation to Saint Joseph's Seminary in 1961 and renewed it in 1973, 1983, 1993, 2004, and 2015.
St. Joseph’s Seminary is affiliated with the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. By virtue of this juridic bond to the university, St. Joseph’s is authorized to grant the first-cycle degree of Bachelor of Sacred Theology (S.T.B.)
Saint Joseph's Seminary is a member of the National Association of Catholic Theological Schools (N.A.C.T.S.; formerly M.A.T.S.) and a member of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA). It also holds institutional memberships in variouos academic and library associations and societies.
