The Masters (M.A.) Program
Applicants must have earned a bachelor degree, or an equivalent, from an accredited institution. Upon acceptance into the Master of Arts program, one is considered non-matriculated until one has completed six credits at the seminary with an earned grade of "B" or better. At that point, one's performance is reviewed, and the status of matriculation as a candidate for a Master of Arts degree is granted

Mail a completed application form which may be downloaded here with a $50.00 non-refundable application fee to St. Joseph's Seminary, 201 Seminary Ave., Yonkers, NY 10704, Attn: Dr. Donna Eschenauer.
Qualified students may be permitted to audit courses. An auditor participates in a course without receiving credit.
Master of Arts in Theology (39 Credits)
Nine three-credit courses are devoted to an integrated core curriculum in fundamental theology. The remaining twelve credits allow students to specialize in Scripture, Dogmatics, Moral Theology, or Liturgy.
Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies (48 Credits)
Eight three-credit courses are devoted to an integradted core curriculum in theology. Four required courses and three electives of choice in Pastoral Ministry provide the necessary background in pastoral studies.
Master of Arts in Catholic Philosophical Studies (39 Credits)
Ten three-credit courses are devoted to an integrated core curriculum in philosophy. The remaining nine credits provide an introduction to Catholic theology and serve to develop the student's understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of theology as well as the the relationship between faith and reason.
