Just as it was the focus of attention of millions around the world when the Pope John Paul, II led Vespers on October 6, 1995, the Chapel is the focal point and center of life in the seminary. The seminary community gathers here for Mass, Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer every day.
The Chapel, which was restored to its original beauty for the visit of the Holy Father and the 100th Anniversary of the Seminary, is especially enhanced by the stained glass windows and the beautiful depiction of Christ the Teacher in the Apse. The seats face one another in monastic style to facilitate communal prayer, as each side alternates the chanting and reciting of the psalms and prayers of the Liturgy of the Hours
The crucifix was a gift from Pope Leo XIII at the opening of the Seminary in 1896.
