Annmarie McLaughlin is Associate Professor of Writing and Research, and Associate Professor of Scripture. She holds an M.A. in Theology from Fordham University and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Scripture from St. Joseph’s Seminary. She obtained a B.A. in English and Spanish from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.
Prof. McLaughlin works with students at St. Joseph’s to improve their skills in writing, research, and conversational English. She offers writing workshops and thesis-writing seminars to students in the M.Div., MACPS, and M.A. Theology programs. Prof. McLaughlin also acts as the Compliance Coordinator for the St. Joseph Seminary’s Sexual Misconduct Policy and Procedure and is a member of the Faculty Academic Committee and the Safety and Security Committee. Recently, she assumed the position of Faculty Moderator for the Dunwoodie Review.
Prior to joining the faculty of St. Joseph’s in 2016, Prof. McLaughlin taught as an adjunct instructor of theology at St. John’s University. She has served on a variety of councils in the Diocese of Brooklyn and acted as the Executive Chairperson of the Diocesan Pastoral Council (2015-2018) and the Chairperson of the Bilingual Women’s Conference Committee (2013-2016). She began her career as a Catholic high school teacher in the Bronx before marrying in 1995 and attending graduate school. She lives in Floral Park, NY, with her husband, Dan, and the youngest of their three children.
