Biography
Father Matthew S. Ernest, S.T.D. serves as Academic Dean and Professor and Director of Liturgy at Saint Joseph's Seminary (Dunwoodie) in Yonkers, New York, and the Director of the Office of Liturgy for the Archdiocese of New York. He has published in Ephemerides Liturgicae, Ecclesia Orans, and Questions Liturgiques, and has written and served as a liturgical editor for Magnificat Publications. In 2015, Fr. Ernest was the director of liturgy for Pope Francis' visit to New York, overseeing the papal Mass at Madison Square Garden and Vespers at Saint Patrick's Cathedral. In 2023, he served as director of liturgy for the New York State Eucharistic Congress. Father Ernest holds a doctorate in liturgical studies from the Catholic University of America and serves as a censor librorum for the Archdiocese of New York.
