Diocesan Vocations Director Evaluation
The candidate's Diocesan Vocation Director (DVD) conducts an initial interview. If the DVD believes that the candidate satisfactorily presents as a faithful person of moral character, he will request the candidate to complete the initial questionnaire and gather a series of required documents: canonical information, academic transcripts, medical records, letters of recommendation, and documents pertaining to his visa, if necessary. A full psychological evaluation of each candidate is also required.
Diocesan Board of Admissions Review
Following a successful initial interview and submission of all required documents the DVD will present the candidate to his local diocesan board of admissions as prescribed by his diocese. The local board will review the candidate's documentation, and a second round of interviews will be conducted.
Meeting with Seminary Admissions Team
If the candidate meets the requirements of his diocese, he will meet with the Dunwoodie Director of Seminarian Admissions (and Propaedeutic Stage Director if applicable) for an in-depth interview. All documentation, including the psychological evaluation, must be received prior to the interview. At this time, the Director of Seminarian Admissions may at his discretion discuss the candidate with the seminary Rector and request additional interviews with other members of the Dunwoodie Formation Team.
If, upon recommendation of the Director of Seminarian Admissions, the Rector accepts the candidate into the formation program, he will notify the candidate in writing.
