“Following the foundational principle of Catholic theology (faith seeking understanding), present in the thought of the saints, Monsignor Oxley and Father Cush provide an integrated work presenting an effective way for priests to live Christ-centered lives, enabling them to practice the best of pastoral charity. I am certainly grateful for their helpful contribution that comes from their years of experience in the priestly formation ministry.”

“The authors clearly present the essential reciprocal relationship of the intellectual and spiritual life of the priest. Their explanation of the ‘why’ and ‘how to’ reminds priests and seminarians that theological study and meditation are necessary for the priestly mind and heart to plunge into a greater depth of encounter with the living God.”
Father Joshua J. Rodrigue, STL
Rector, Notre Dame Seminary

“This book is both thoughtful and thought-provoking, and it is a reminder to all priests—and, I would add, seminarians—that to deepen one’s love of theological study is to deepen one’s love of God Himself. I hope this book, which clearly is the fruit of much prayer and reflection, finds a home in every seminary library and in the hands of every priest who truly desires to conform his heart and mind to Christ.”
